Bahia Mar 985 by Padre Island Rentals

The location made the stay, with a quick walk to both the pool and ocean, and we really enjoyed being here. The condo was clean, had what we needed, and the balcony was nice. Having a washer and dryer saved us money on baggage and let us pack less. The staff were wonderful and helpful. The place is a little dated, but for the size and price we were happy. My main complaint is the beds, they’re awful and need replacing.

The pools are wonderful, and the beachside furniture was a thoughtful touch. I’d stay here again. There’s construction outside, though it didn’t get in the way. The one thing inside that didn’t work well was the laundry.

We liked how close the well-kept property is to the beach. There are two pools with jacuzzis and comfy seating, plus tennis courts and a playground for toddlers. It’s gated, with staff and security, and everyone has to wear a wrist band for identification. During our long stay, we wished we could replace the bands, but that wasn’t allowed. Each condo has its own decor and furnishings, and some have been updated more than others. We stayed in the same one last year and found it clean and in excellent shape. This time, the washer didn’t work properly, the toilet in one bathroom wouldn’t flush, and the shower pressure was poor. The bathroom also had hair and dirty flooring left by previous renters, so we had to clean it ourselves with products. Maybe the cleaning agency changed, because the place didn’t meet the standard we’d experienced before, especially for the high price. There were also several rental fees, which seemed higher than what we’d paid on previous bookings.

We were left scrambling for another place at the last minute after Bahia Mar Solare Tower canceled our reservation. I booked through Booking because the listing clearly said pets were allowed, and everything had been confirmed. Then, just ONE DAY before our stay, they said pets weren’t permitted and canceled. This was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. If pets aren’t allowed, why advertise the hotel as pet-friendly on Booking? Canceling so late puts guests in a difficult spot when their travel plans are already set. I trusted the online information, and their mistake left me trying to find somewhere else at the last minute. Communication and customer service were both poor. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel unless they fix the policy and stop misleading customers.
