Best Western Beachside Inn

My fiancé decided to spend the weekend on South Padre Island for his 57th birthday, since he couldn't make it to Chicago and be with me over Memorial Day weekend. He'd moved from Chicago to Texas for a job, and his company had him working on South Padre Island for a couple of weeks. He chose Best Western because he'd stayed there while working on the island. He says the staff are really nice, and he was comfortable. They were so friendly that he seemed to know some of them by name. I hope to visit on 4th of July, and maybe we’ll plan a trip to the island.

The front desk, maintenance, and housekeeping staff were all nice, responsive, and professional. The food bar has coffee available 24 hours a day. The hotel is one block from the beach on both sides. I really liked the mat set by the window and spent my stay lying on it instead of sitting in a chair. The room was generally clean and spacious, with good sound insulation for quiet living and sleeping. It also had a sufficient number of charging ports in the right places, which is the first time I’ve given that praise. Cleanliness could use a little improvement: I noticed dust on the bed lights and a few oil stains on the dining table, though neither was a problem for me. A reminder, this is an island, so be alert for roaches.

I booked one night at the Best Western with a special rate, and the room exceeded my expectations enough that I extended my stay for a couple more nights. It’s mid-tier, I’d say, not top of the line but definitely not at the bottom. Close to everything, with good service. I highly recommend it.

The staff were friendly, the bed and pillows were comfy, and the room was clean with a nice view. Breakfast was nice too. We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely South Padre Island hotel. Couldn't have been better!
