We were excited to try this new place because the location and amenities caught our attention. We chose it because it said it was pet friendly, and my daughter is recovering from surgery to remove a tumor in her leg. She wears a boot and has some permitted movement. The miniature chihuahua she brought was there as an emotional support companion. Removing a tumor is traumatic for someone her age. From the first day, security gave us trouble in the pool area, even though the front desk had said it was okay as long as the dog stayed out of the pool. We understood and stayed away from the pool. The next day, security stopped us again. We kindly explained the reason, and the guard sarcastically asked, “for a broken leg?” when I said the dog was her emotional support animal. I told him it wasn’t a broken leg, she had a tumor. Saying that with her standing next to me was unnecessary, and as a parent it really bothered me. We won’t stay here again. There was also gum in our bed frames. We hadn’t planned to mention it because we understand how things like this can affect a business and would normally let small issues go. I hope they address it and treat their guests with more support.
The beach access is great, just a quick minute’s walk away, but for us the price didn’t match the quality or value. The restaurant was mediocre, and the drinks and bar were below par for what they cost. The resort needs to step things up, especially with neighboring places that look much better, offer more, and cost less. The property itself needs a major update or remodel. Unless you book specifically through Airbnb and can choose your room, it feels like a coin toss. Do your research and don’t book through a third-party site. We spoke to several staff members and couldn’t get answers to our questions. The person who checked us in didn’t know about the restaurant, property, or amenities. I jokingly asked if he was new, and he said he’d been there a while. We were fortunate to get a room right away, because the lobby was full of upset people waiting for rooms that still weren’t ready around 5 p.m. We visit the island consistently two or three times a month from May through October. If management could help me understand what I missed about the resort, that would be great, because this visit felt like a waste of time and money.
We stayed in a condominio on the sixth floor and really enjoyed the rooms, especially the views. It’s an older property, but had what we needed for a great getaway. The pools and Jacuzzis were great, the restaurant was nice, and the nightclub was entertaining. It was my first time seeing crab races, silly fun. The beach access was fantastic, and I’ll definitely be back.
My hubby and I had a fabulous little honeymoon here, and we’re planning to return next year. We loved our king ocean-view room. You can tell the building is old, but it’s well kept. Chris at the quarterdeck bar made our day with perfect customer service.
I’ve stayed here before and came back for the tropical feel, palm trees, beautiful views, and great vibe. This time I had an ocean-view cabana, and the room was spacious and had all the amenities we needed, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, an iron, a fridge, and a couch. The A/C worked great and blew ice-cold air, but it aimed straight at our faces while we were in bed, with a lot of force. It would have been much better if the grille could be adjusted to point elsewhere. Aside from that, there’s plenty to do at the resort: a game room with games and pool tables, events during the week, clean pools, and a little poolside bar. The pool looks beautiful lit up at night. Beach access and everything on site make it easy to stay put, and nearby restaurants and souvenir shops are within walking distance. I’ll definitely come back.
