After spending 37 years coming to the island, I tried a new place and had a heartbreaking experience. Nobody has tried to offer me another solution or accommodate me. My son's car was towed, and there were too many rules. The condo also wasn't up to standard in the pictures or in person, especially for what we paid. Owners seemed to have different rules from people renting their condos.

I love this condo, especially being able to park my boat in one of the slips. The infinity pool is great too!

There are lots of other great places to stay, and I wish someone had warned me about this one. A female security officer went out of her way to harass my family. It felt like she couldn't understand Black people staying there, even though other guests were no different. If you're Black or a person of color, I wouldn't recommend it.

The place itself is beautiful, but we couldn't sleep because the smoke detectors kept going off all night. When we asked “security” for help, they accused us of smoking on the property and offered no help. We were left on our own waiting all night for the fire alarm to stop, and it never did. I also felt that “security” targets people of color whenever they can. I definitely won't stay again.

The condo was surprisingly home-like, much nicer inside than I expected from what I thought would be an apartment. It was very clean, and there's a pool for days you don't want to go to the beach. I recommend staying here when visiting the island.
