The whole building is undergoing major construction, yet it's still being advertised for vacation rentals. Watch out, “Modern Las Olas Condo” in South Padre Island is managed by a scammer company calling itself “ Turn Key”.

Construction was everywhere, with scaffolding blocking the ocean view and workers right outside our windows every day but Sunday. We had to buy our own toilet paper, and one bathroom toilet didn't work. I called to ask for more paper and never heard back. One of the worst stays I've had. Don't waste your money.

I loved the condo, but had a very different experience with the people managing it. I only saw the on-site manager after calling to complain about the on-site guys, and she made excuses for them. They kept watching us, and I believe one of them filmed us while we were there. Nobody asked whether we needed anything. Then other people arrived on Friday, speaking Spanish, and were looked after very well with beach chairs, an umbrella, and other things. It made me feel like my family was the wrong race.

It's a beautiful complex on the beach, and the entertainment district is within walking distance.
