Monterrey Motel Padre Island, Corpus Christi By Oyo

We booked at the last minute and got a nice deal. The room was clean and cool, with hot water and great pressure in the shower. I'd definitely stay here again.

The young couple who run the motel were really friendly and accommodating. We asked for extra pillows and towels, and they brought them without any fuss. The beach is close, and there are plenty of places to eat and shop nearby. We'd stay again. It isn't the Hilton, and there's not much in the way of amenities, but it has what we wanted: a clean room, fresh towels and sheets, a comfortable bed, a shower, and cold A/C.

We stayed four nights in the room with three queen beds, and it worked really well for me and the kids. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the A/C was freezing cold. The room and beds have been updated since the online photos. We rented a beach cart next door from Beach Bum rentals, and there’s one outdoor grill guests can use when it’s free. Bring your own towels if you can, and a broom too, since sand builds up fast. I’d stay here again.

The Monterey feels like one of Padre’s original treasures, brought back to life with real care. Everything is spotless, calm, and welcoming, and you can see the owners’ pride and kindness in the details. The staff are professional and down-to-earth, just genuinely good people. It’s a place that deserves great guests and earns them.
