The manager was understanding and great, and being closer to the beach access we use was the one good thing about this place. The rooms and the rest of the property were awful. We had to switch rooms twice. In the first, an alarm kept beeping for no reason and there was a roach. The second had only hot water, which was rough with sunburns. In the third, the shower ceiling was exposed, the toilet seat was broken, and my husband got bed bug bites. The whole place smelled like mildew and seemed only superficially cleaned. There was black mold in one shower, and the stairs felt dangerous. The Expedia photos look nothing like what you actually see. They showed renovated showers, but none of the showers in the rooms my family and I were in looked new. We won’t stay here again.

I’m usually not hard to please. I just want somewhere comfortable, but after paying over $100 plus a $100 deposit, the room was a mess. It was meant to be non-smoking but smelled like people had smoked in there for months. Cockroaches were all over, including in the bed. The shower had hair stuck to the walls, there was a booger on the wall beside the bed, and clothes were left in the drawers. The phone didn’t work when I tried to call the office, and there was no TV remote. I told the front desk about the clothes nobody claimed, and they only said they’d tell the manager. Nobody offered to move me. At checkout they asked how my stay was, and when I listed the problems, the woman asked why I hadn’t asked them to move me when it happened. I told her that hadn’t been offered as an option at the time. The bugs and dirty clothes were the last straw, and I woke up with tons of bites across my stomach.

I paid over $500 and was really disappointed. The room stayed hot all night, and the vents started smelling like marijuana even though they said the location was smoke-free. There were roaches, and when I complained about them and the housekeeping that hadn’t been done, the employee seemed bothered and gave very poor customer service. I’d been charged an extra amount for housekeeping. I had to ask for towels twice, waited over an hour, and staff didn’t seem interested in the roaches.

The boat dock itself is really nice and in a great location. I didn’t stay at the hotel, just ate there. Every stall has water and electricity, and the stalls are gated and monitored by cameras. There are fish-cleaning spots and places to sit or gather, too. My four stars are because the cost is a bit steep: $500 a month for the boat, plus $50 for the trailer.

We were charged an extra $20 per person that hadn’t been disclosed when we booked, so it felt misleading to find out only after arriving. At checkout, management was dismissive and unprofessional. They blamed me for not coming to the office in the middle of the night, said they couldn’t do anything, and offered no refund, partial compensation, or sincere apology. The noise ruined two nights. Guests in the room next door shouted, banged on doors, and kept coming and going from about 3 a.m. into the morning. I reported it repeatedly, but staff only asked them to quiet down for a while. It would stop for about an hour, then begin again. The same thing happened the second night, and staff gave them multiple chances instead of resolving it. Even when police were called, it seemed hotel staff handled things rather than officers actually addressing the guests. When I tried calling the front desk again, no one answered. I wasn’t comfortable walking outside to the office while intoxicated guests wandered the hallways. I missed a morning event and a planned breakfast reservation because I hadn’t slept. The room was also unclean. The sheets and pillows were dirty and had multiple hairs, so we asked for fresh covers. After removing the original bedding, we saw stains all over it, including something that looked like a footprint on a pillow. The mattresses were visibly stained as well. The shower was gray and looked long overdue for a scrub. There were marks around the sink, mold in the sink and shower corners, and hard water buildup on the faucet. Grime between the TV remote buttons made it seem like basic cleaning was being overlooked. This was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had. Between the poor cleanliness, nonstop noise, undisclosed fees, and the way management responded, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
