Econo Lodge Pagosa Springs

It was handy being close to a lot of things, and our friends' rooms were nearby, so getting together was easy. The hot tub was nice to have, though it looked a little questionable, and I think the place could use an update all around. Customer service was nice, which is why I'm giving two stars. The rooms were musty, the bed was stiff, and I brought my own pillows and an essential oil diffuser after reading reviews. Breakfast is light, more like a muffin and banana than a full meal.

Kelly, I believe that was her name, made our late-night check-in such a good experience. She worked both nights we were there and was always smiling and upbeat. It's not often you find someone that happy when checking in late. Her attitude really made her feel like the face of the place, and she deserves more thanks for it. We found the room clean and comfortable, and it seemed to have been partly updated. Breakfast had a good variety. I also liked that the hotel was affordable, pet friendly, and had a courtyard, hot tub, and pool. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back. Thanks for the stay and amenities.

The receptionist was the first one who went over all the details with us, and we got a 10% discount at the restaurant next door. I made good use of the fridge and microwave. There's plenty of parking and easy access to US160 without being right beside it. We walked to dinner for exercise. The elevation must be around 9,500 ft, but that didn't bother me, and neither did the lack of an elevator. We ended up on the second floor with two Queens instead of a King, and breakfast was late. The pool and spa didn't look very clean, so we skipped them. Otherwise, it was a nice place. The shower was good and the bed was comfortable.

For a last-minute booking, it was a nice experience, and the staff were very kind. The room looked clean, and I appreciated that they kept the pool area to six people because of Covid. It's just outside downtown, so the location worked well. My main complaint was the heated pool took way too long to warm up and was super cold. I'd recommend it otherwise.
