Fireside Cabins

We brought our dog and were charged $150 for “dog hair and footprints” on the bed. What was the $45 per night dog fee for, then? Washing bedding between guests is something they're supposed to do anyway, so how does that add up to $150 on top of the $90 pet fee for two nights? I've since read several reviews describing the same thing. Don't stay here. It's not worth it. You'll be overcharged, and the owner will be extremely rude and unprofessional when you raise concerns.

The cabins are super cute, thoughtfully laid out, and well provisioned. We loved it so much that after staying last month, we booked again for this month. There's a beautiful riverside setting, with outdoor chairs and tables placed just right for watching the river. It's become a favorite getaway, definitely worth a visit!

We came for one night on 7/7 with my family and booked a cabin specifically on the river. I paid $203, but after arriving in Pagosa and checking in with a bunch of random fees, the total was $293. Once the cars were unpacked, we saw they were clearing and cutting brush, then burning it in the river right beside the riverside cabins. The smoke went on for hours, for most of the day. We couldn't enjoy the porch view we paid for or use the river access. There was so much smoke that local police and a fire truck came to check on it. It wasn't at all the peace and quiet I hoped for, and the stay wasn't worth the money. The next morning, there was a gas leak smell outside somewhere. It was horrible, and my asthma has never been so bad. I'm not impressed. I'd spend the money somewhere more considerate.

They say they're “dog friendly,” but then charged me $200 for dirt on the floor when I stayed with a friend. If I could give negative stars, I would. 10/10 would never recommend.
