Healing Waters Resort & Spa

The only thing keeping this from five stars is how hard it is to get around with limited mobility. They try very hard, but the shower, Hot Bath, and Pool are difficult to manage. Thanks to the staff for helping my wife get out of the pool. The place is excellent and clean, with very friendly and HELPFUL staff.

The smell sticks to your bathing suits and towels, and after I washed a load of laundry, it smelled like minerals too, which smells like fart. I'd wear a suit you don't mind throwing away afterward. The pool feels like a step above a motel pool, and that's only because it's Hot Springs water. Google's pictures include both this facility and the one across the street, which is really misleading. The next day we found free natural Hot Springs along the nearby river, and I found them more relaxing. I'd highly recommend tourists just go there instead.

Even with all the construction, it was easy to get to the downtown shops from here. The mineral pool was just the right temperature for an August day. Our room was quiet, cute, clean, and cozy. The one downside was the bed, which was incredibly firm and uncomfortable. 😞

The service was EXCELLENT. All the staff were pleasant and happy to share what they knew about town and good places to eat. I liked that they post the temperature of every pool twice a day. It wasn't crowded, and people were generally pretty chill. For a place that's been around 70 years, it's got great bones. Highly recommend if you don't want the house and craziness of the place across the street.
