Quality Inn Pagosa Springs

On Christmas Day, the room was filthy and there was dog crap all over the property. Earlier, the front desk woman who said she'd worked there for 14 years told everyone arriving around 1 that our rooms were still being cleaned and would be ready at 2:30. I walked around and didn't see any rooms being cleaned or any hotel cleaning staff. She could have simply said she wasn't checking anyone in until 2:39. Why lie? What a shame.

There were old mattresses piled along the hallway walls, and the exterior looked just as run down as the rooms. Inside, everything was dingy, filthy, and badly outdated. An outlet was coming right out of the wall with several things plugged into it, which felt completely unsafe. The place is poorly maintained and a total rip-off at those prices. Avoid it.

The place may not be the newest or fanciest, but neither am I, and I had a great stay. Orla was friendly, outgoing, and knew her stuff. My room was quiet and comfortable, and I slept right through the night, which is rare for me. The updated bathroom and shower were really nice. I'd absolutely come back for a longer personal trip.

The location near the Hot Springs is great, and the service was pleasant, but this was my last stay after many visits over the past 25 years. The hotel is very old and badly needs upgrades. It costs as much as the Springs Hotel but doesn't include passes to the Springs. The pool was closed and a mess, and breakfast was pitiful. Sad.
