Deluxe Inn Palacios

We enjoyed our stay at Deluxe Inn. It was clean and nice, though it’s no Marriott. Palacios is a small fishing town, so we hadn’t expected much, and this is the only inn in town.

We arrived around 11 p.m. on a Friday without a reservation, and the staff politely found us a king room. The person who helped even brought extra pillows after I mentioned my husband snores. The pillows were comfortable and the sheets clean. Our room was in the hotel’s original section, which was spacious and clean. We travel all over the US and have stayed at plenty of budget hotels, so we were very happy with $74 a night. There was lots of parking and everything was close by. The staff were awesome, and I’d recommend staying here.

I usually stay at the Luther, but it was closed for some odd reason, so I ended up here. The room wasn’t worth what I paid, and the mini fridge didn’t work. It smelled moldy and old, and the carpet was disgusting. The place was dirty and stinky, too. The woman who checked us in had a horrible attitude and the customer service was terrible. In this business, customers matter. Without them, you can’t support your family or keep the lights on. If you don’t want to deal with the public, close your doors. Next time, if the Luther is closed, I’ll stay in Bay City.

At check-in, they didn’t tell us there was no water. We’d asked for a non-smoking room, but the front desk gave us a smoking room and said they’d deep cleaned it. My wife walked in and the place smelled like smoke, like an ashtray. There were old mattresses outside the door. We won’t ever go there again. 👎🤮
