Fig Tree Manor

The breakfasts were relaxed and delicious, and even the cats were wonderful hosts. Fig Tree Manor became one of my favorite B&Bs for a peaceful, low-stress stay. I travel a lot for work as an author and food writer, speaking at conferences around the country, and have stayed at plenty of hotels and B&Bs. This one was beautifully decorated and smelled of lovely scented candles. The innkeepers were friendly and helpful while giving us privacy. The quiet street had little traffic, and the porch swing was just right for reading. My husband planned a weekend away because I'm an admitted workaholic, and I needed somewhere to lie around, read, sleep, and not lift a finger. It was exactly the break I needed. I'd highly recommend it to overworked professionals looking for a Hallmark weekend. I'm not promising magic, but I'm not saying it didn't happen either.

The owners were such sweet, welcoming hosts, and we came away feeling relaxed, pampered, and refreshed. We enjoyed the garden-style pool and the dreamy footed bathtub. They'd thought of everything: snacks, water, bath accessories, robes, and, most of all, a super-comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious too. It's an ideal B&B, within walking distance of great restaurants and fun antique shops. We'll be back!

For my husband's birthday, after a terrible family tragedy, we needed a peaceful weekend to take our minds off things for a while. This was my first B&B stay, a bucket-list item, and it made me want to do it again. The owners were friendly and accommodating, and the house was beautiful with fabulous decor. We could walk to plenty of things to see and do and great places to eat, and a delicious home-cooked breakfast came with the stay. It felt comfortable, almost like home, and gave us the quiet retreat we needed. Five stars and two thumbs up. We'll definitely return.

The shared indoor and outdoor spaces were roomy and beautifully decorated, and our private room had everything we could need. The whole house was clean and well cared for. The hosts were easy to find, very accommodating, and gave us excellent suggestions for food and things to do. There are several very friendly cats who like to hang around and be petted. This is a lovely B&B close to several locally owned businesses.
