I reported visible mold in my room every day for seven days, but staff kept passing me from one clerk to another and no manager came to help. I became extremely sick, with migraines and nausea, and spent three days bedridden. They moved me only after I said I'd call corporate. Three days later, they refused to extend my stay and told me to leave within 15 minutes, threatening to call the police. That felt retaliatory and completely unprofessional. I was traveling with my trained service dog. I watched staff take and hide my dog waste supplies, then deny doing it, which seemed like an attempt to make a false complaint about me. This place felt unsafe, unsanitary, and hostile to disabled guests. I've filed complaints with ADA, DBPR, the Florida Attorney General, and corporate. Avoid it.

The suite suited me, and the staff were great. I just wish there had been a stove surface, though I managed without one. Breakfast was limited: you could make waffles or pancakes and have bagels, bread, oranges, cereal, yogurt, tea bags, oatmeal packets, and whole milk, but there was no meat or eggs. I didn't see a place to get hot water, though I guess it was available. Update: When I checked out, $14.95 per night was charged to my card. The confirmation email fine print mentioned a $50 cash deposit option. If I stayed again, I'd ask about that, since it makes more sense for stays longer than three nights. I'm curious whether they'd really take the cash without also charging the card. I wish this charge had been clearly included in the prepaid total instead of appearing afterward.

The bathroom flooding meant another room change, and the next room had dirty towels and used bathroom tissue. My son had recently had surgery, struggled to walk, and wore a fall-risk band, so all the moving around over unsafe, unsanitary conditions was stressful and put his health and well-being at unnecessary risk. Cleanliness, respect, and reasonable accommodation for medical needs are basic expectations, and this hotel didn't meet them. At check-in, our assigned room was dirty and the bed wasn't made, so I went back to the desk and was moved. In that second room, the toilet had visible urine stains, then flooded the next morning and made the bathroom unusable. After the flood, we were moved again, only to find those dirty towels and used tissue. That same morning at breakfast, a staff member told me to be mindful of other guests and moderate my portions. I had taken waffles, yogurt, coffee, and tea for myself and my son. It was embarrassing and inappropriate. Other guests later told me nobody had said that to them. I asked the front desk why I'd been singled out and whether it was because I was the only Black guest at breakfast. The clerk said it was up to guests whether they listened and claimed others had been told the same, though I'd already checked and knew that wasn't true. This stay at the MicroHotel in Palm Coast, from April 21 to April 25, 2025, caused major distress and inconvenience, and left me worried about my child's safety.

We couldn't change hotels because it was late, but the hotel still refused a refund afterward, saying there was nothing they could do since we'd completed the stay. We had to shower in cold water in the final room because the shower stayed cold even after running for more than 10 minutes. The front desk staff were polite and tried to help, but couldn't fix the problems. The first room was unsanitary: the toilet had feces in it despite a sanitation seal across the seat, so we reported it and changed rooms. After dealing with key problems and finally settling in, we found there was no hot water. The lack of hot water and the condition of the first room meant basic lodging services weren't provided. It was a frustrating stay, and I hope management addresses these issues for future guests.

For a low-cost stay, it was clean, quiet, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was a little disappointing, with not much beyond eggs and bread to choose from, but at these prices I was surprised they offered breakfast at all. Cracker Barrel is within walking distance. 👌🏼
