Holiday Inn Express Palm Desert

I asked for a quiet room on the top floor and got exactly that, overlooking the pool with the mountains behind it. The bed was the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in, and the hot tub was clean and hot. Breakfast was nice, with tea and coffee available all the time. There’s plenty of shopping and grocery stores within walking distance. The hotel is dated, but clean. I stayed two nights, saw no bugs, and found the staff friendly and helpful.

The breakfast was very nice, though the room where it’s served is quite small. Housekeeping also went above and beyond, folding a lot of the towels. I only stayed one night, but the room was comfortable and well kept. I’d stay here again.

The hotel is across from a supermarket, and the breakfast selection was more extensive than at many places. Staff made an effort to help guests find what they needed. The usual amenities are here, plus a fridge and microwave, though the property could use some updates, especially the elevator. My TV didn’t work, and nothing was done when I first reported it that night. After I called again the next day, they got it working. The WiFi instructions were confusing and didn’t match what I needed to do, but I figured it out myself and the connection was fast.

The noise made it impossible to relax. Someone upstairs stomped around loudly, and the neighbors next door were even louder throughout the night, with men and women constantly going in and out. I have video footage, though I can’t upload it here. The room was clean and bug-free, which I appreciated, but housekeeping came in while I was showering even though the “Do Not Disturb” sign was on the door. The TV didn’t work at all either. When I asked the front desk for help, the staff member, dressed in a prison uniform for Halloween, was rude and rushed. She kept looking at her phone and barely paid attention. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
