Holiday Inn Express & Suites Palm Desert - Millennium

The mountain view was a lovely bonus, and the rooms were very clean. Housekeeping came every day, and breakfast had a really wide selection. We usually stay at Holiday Inns, but this was the best one I’ve been to so far. It went above and beyond what I expect from IHG.

Housekeeping was the one good part of the stay. They were friendly and decent, and the rooms were clean. The hotel itself is very basic, with paper-thin walls. I could hear noise from above, below, and seemingly everywhere, even a couple miles away. The front desk staff were awful, especially Ricardo, though nobody else working there was any better. If they don’t want guests checking in, checking out, or talking to them, maybe they shouldn’t be in customer-facing jobs.

My room was roomy, spotless, and bright with natural light, and breakfast was very good. The staff were genuinely welcoming and attentive throughout the stay. The hotel is clearly well run and kept in great shape. I was comfortable and happy here, and would definitely recommend it.

The location worked out well, with clean, good-sized rooms, very nice staff, and an awesome breakfast. Having seven EV chargers on site was especially convenient. My car was fully charged by morning, which saved time before heading to our next stop. I took off a star because I’m highly allergic to carpet and wish there were rooms with hardwood or no carpet. Even with all the precautions we took, the carpet affected my health. Hotels in Oregon, Washington, Canada, and other colder places often offer carpet-free rooms, which makes a real difference for allergy sufferers. I hope hotels without hardwood flooring consider adding that option.
