We’ve stayed here twice and plan to keep coming back. It’s a lovely boutique hotel, handy for downtown and the theaters, with a cordial, professional staff. Niki and Karl are wonderful employees. Thank you!

Their explanations kept changing, first it was because they’re “boutique,” then it was “a corporate decision.” Which is it, ANDREAS? I noticed other unhappy guest reviews on Google too. They refused to give me a full refund even though I canceled well before my trip, and they rudely said “NO” when I asked if the money they’d taken could be used as credit for a future stay. They repeatedly promised to call me back and didn’t. Then they became fully booked, so they were paid twice for the room. I’ve never dealt with a ruder, more money-grabbing hotel. It’s disgusting to ruin someone’s attempt at a simple vacation like this. Shame on you, Andreas Hotel. How is this hospitality?

My husband and I have stayed here several times, and each visit has been wonderful. It’s a peaceful, relaxing, adults-only escape, and the staff are some of the friendliest around. The hotel is adorable, and the location puts you right in the heart of downtown with everything just steps away. We recommend it to friends and family.

The grounds made us want to head back to the hotel and just relax, which we don’t usually do on trips. Andreas Hotel is quiet and calming, with mountain views and lots of little places to sit. We liked the south-side balcony, the two outdoor living-room areas by fireplaces, and a small seating nook with two chairs and tables. The furniture was clean, comfortable, and well cared for, though some pieces showed wear. There were quiet spots to lounge by the pool, enjoy the complimentary bubbly, or sit upstairs with a glass of wine. The adults-only setting felt peaceful without making us feel like we had to whisper. It’s a beautifully kept vintage hotel, over 90 years old, with its original charm and Mediterranean style, including Italian signage. Our standard room was small but nice, with a fake fireplace, a noise machine set to ocean sounds, and a comfortable spring mattress in good shape. It also had a small fridge, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker. The bathroom was surprisingly large, though the vanity area was small. The older bath and shower combo was clean, and the water pressure was decent. The place is nearly a century old, but they’re keeping it in great shape. The pool and spa were both on the small side, but clean and relaxing, with strong spa jets. The lounge chairs were well kept, and rolled towels were ready in little holders. There wasn’t a strong chlorine smell, so I’m pretty sure it’s a saltwater pool. No outside food or drinks are allowed in the pool area, but there’s a tiny bar for drinks and some food at reasonable prices. There are other outdoor spots where you can eat or drink. There was also a little room with coffee, a biscotto or two, an apple, and candy. The coffee could’ve been stronger, but everything was spotless. Breakfast was a free small box with yogurt, a bagel and cream cheese, a tangerine, oatmeal, granola bar, packaged pastry, string cheese, and a choice of juice. It wasn’t great, though I wasn’t expecting complimentary breakfast. The woman who checked us in was so sweet and helpful, really welcoming and friendly. The hotel is over 90 years old but has been refurbished while keeping its original charm.

The service was excellent, especially from the sweet and attentive front desk woman, and the hotel itself was clean, quiet, and secure. You need your key card to get into the property. Shops and restaurants are within walking distance. The breakfast was the letdown. They serve the same cold, ready-to-eat boxes every day, with packaged bagels, bread, granola bars, cheese, butter, and bottled juice. I expected something hot, like eggs, sausage, and potatoes. If I hadn’t already booked three nights, I probably would’ve gone back to IHG Hilton Palm Dessert, where they have a good breakfast buffet. The rooms also don’t have chairs or tables, so eating there means standing or sitting on the bed. Still, I’d recommend the hotel if breakfast and eating in your room aren’t important to you.
