Best Western Plus Las Brisas Hotel

The location is great, and the small pool bar was nice. We got a good margarita there, though we may stay again only if we can get a room away from the pool and without an adjoining door. You could clearly hear conversations from the next room. The shower had low pressure and its temperature kept changing. Each evening and morning, staff ran a high-pitched electric blower by the pool for 30 minutes or more. Really annoying. We wanted snacks, but the bartender said they didn't serve them, even though the front desk staff and signs said they did. We thought the bartender was being lazy. Of the three bartenders we encountered at different times, two were completely socially awkward, with no greeting, smile, or friendliness. Super weird. You can't be antisocial and a bartender at the same time, lol. Decent hotel, but I can only call it decent.

The lock on our room door stopped working, and we were locked out for a few hours without our car keys, electronics, or wallet. They couldn't work out how to fix it, so they eventually took the window apart and climbed through to open the door. This happened late at night, before I had a work event early the next morning. The issue itself was strange but things like that happen. What was unacceptable was the response. They said they couldn't fix it until the next day, and that once we got inside we couldn't leave because the lock would trap us out again and the maintenance person was leaving for the evening. Nobody offered to move us to a room with a working lock. There wasn't even an apology for leaving us outside for hours close to midnight, except from the security and maintenance people, who were incredibly nice and seemed to be the only ones who understood how badly it was being handled. I was so frustrated and didn't want more disruptions, so I checked out a day early. At the front desk I asked the manager to reimburse me for that night because of the inconvenience. She was rude and utterly unhelpful, saying no discount was possible because these things happen. She offered a free drink and appetizer at the hotel bar, which felt insulting. I understand that problems crop up. I don't understand why the manager and front desk staff weren't trained to give better service. A different room was the bare minimum, and we weren't offered one. The manager seemed hostile to even showing a little empathy, and the whole experience was incredibly poor. I wouldn't recommend staying here. You can find much better service and more updated rooms elsewhere in Palm Springs.

My room was changed because of loud music, and they moved me to a nice, quiet spot. The grounds were impeccably clean, and all the staff were pleasant. Breakfast was included and delicious, with great coffee, fresh fruit, and hot entrees. The pool was a nice 82 to 84, and there were plenty of lounge chairs; it was all very well kept. Rooms were tight, but I needed two beds. The king rooms looked more spacious. Definitely worth the price.

We were unfortunately put in Building B, across from a very noisy bar that plays music until 2 am. If you're assigned there, don't accept it and ask for another room. Apart from that, it was an excellent stay. The hotel looks nice, with lush grounds, a beautiful pool area, a full breakfast, comfortable rooms, and a central location.
