The one small thing I’d change is the dead plants in the planters on my patio. Everything else about my two-night stay at Del Marcos Hotel was a standout. I’ve tried around 20 hotels and resorts in Palm Springs, and this was my favorite so far. I rarely write reviews, but this one deserved the time. Every staff member I met was incredibly helpful and warm. The room was great, the pool was lovely, and cleanliness was a 10/10. The free continental breakfast had me feeling like I’d landed at an exclusive country club in France. It felt very safe, getting in and out was easy, and the location put me near everything in town. My $50 room deposit was back in my bank account almost immediately after checkout that same day. Other places I’ve stayed have taken 1.5 weeks. Thanks, Del Marcos Hotel. I hope to be back often.

The building has interesting architecture, but the stay was a huge letdown. The website made the property sound much better than it was. It needs a deep clean and a serious hospitality overhaul. At least the weather was nice. We booked a queen room, and the room itself was okay, but we hadn’t been told it was a motel-style room with a door opening right onto the sidewalk. People came up to take pictures in front of our window while we were inside, and we walked out into a tour group. There wasn’t even a sign saying it was a private room, not a photo spot. We wouldn’t have booked if we’d known how exposed it was. The lobby was closed when we arrived, with a sign sending us to the property next door. We’d confirmed our arrival time by text the day before and got no reply afterward. The lobby stayed closed for all five days, so we had to go next door for anything we needed. It wasn’t far, but it was inconvenient. It felt as though the staff were focused on that other property. Late the first night, I reported by text that our shower wasn’t working right. They promptly said maintenance would come in the morning, but that didn’t happen. We returned from our morning activities and had to wait while it was fixed. The maintenance man was perhaps the friendliest and most attentive person there, but the shower problems continued: on two days we had no hot water. I told the hotel, and they didn’t fix it or offer any remedy. The room didn’t look like the photos. The furniture was worn, the bedside lamp was broken, and it needed a much deeper clean. We got towel service on just one day, and there were no pool towels either. I don’t know what the advertised “Room and Poolside service” meant, because I couldn’t find any. The robes, towels, and linens felt standard, with any plushness washed out long ago. The staff’s lack of hospitality was the worst part. Why have a text system if they don’t answer regularly? I told them on day two how disappointed I was, and nobody checked in.

Being able to walk to downtown Palm Springs and many of the main attractions made exploring easy. I spent five days at Del Marcos Hotel, and my poolside room was spacious, spotless, and had a full kitchen. The little back patio with its outdoor tub was a favorite place to unwind after a long day. The staff made the stay feel like home. They greeted me with smiles, were genuinely friendly, and were always ready to help. It made the trip memorable. I’d happily recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Palm Springs, and I’ll be back.

Maria, Andrea, Aaron, and the rest of the staff took such good care of us. I called with a last-minute request to have spirits waiting in the room for my partner’s extended birthday celebration. We left home seven hours later than planned, as we tend to do, but the bottle was beautifully set out on the dining room table with bubbles on ice and two glasses. Such a lovely thing to find after a long drive. The Shag Store recommended this gem while we were in town for Modernism Week. I recognized the cute property from a previous trip, when I’d stopped the car in front to photograph it. This time we got to see inside two rooms, and we liked it enough to extend our somewhat spontaneous Palm Springs vacation by another night. The room was adorable, the grounds stunning, and housekeeping fantastic. Everything felt just right. Cheers, guys. Hope we’re back soon and often.

We spent a lot of our time out and about, and the hotel’s location was very convenient for walking. Still, we expected a much more luxurious stay and didn’t feel we got good value for the room price plus the resort fee. We wouldn’t return. We booked one of the rooms with a larger patio so we could enjoy being outside, but it was so dirty we never used it. The room was okay, though not clean enough by our standards. We expected housekeeping each day and got it once. There were very few towels, no hairdryer, and no access to water. We kept having to ask for basics, which was difficult because the lobby usually had nobody there. We had to walk to the “sister property” next door for help, which felt odd and inconvenient. The complimentary breakfast wasn’t hot, despite what we expected at this price. It was served at the other hotel and consisted only of yogurt and berries. There were no lactose-free choices or accommodations for dietary restrictions. It seemed they were trying to get guests to order from the regular breakfast menu, with entrees costing $20+.
