DoubleTree by Hilton Golf Resort Palm Springs

The gym was clean and well kept, and we appreciated the free on-site parking and daily housekeeping. There were plenty of nice amenities, including the pool, plus a free bucket of golf balls for the driving range next door. We were in town for the Indian Wells tournament, about a 25-minute drive away, and the hotel was also close to the airport. The cookies at check-in were delicious, and they were available each day of our stay.

The maintenance guy deserves real credit. He fixed our toilet in about five minutes by replacing the tank gasket, then got the air conditioning working in roughly ten. He was like a NASCAR pit crew, and saved our last night. The owners should pay him well. My hat’s off to him. We stayed three nights, and the property is showing its age badly. Our room was clean but dated, more like a basic two- or three-star hotel than something that justified the price, especially with the resort fees. The sink was cracked, the toilet leaked, and the USB ports didn’t work. The desk suggested flipping the wall switch by the entrance, but that did nothing. The A/C barely worked for the first two nights, then stopped entirely on the third. Would we come back? Probably not, unless I heard there’d been a recent renovation.

The food at Mira bar and breakfast at Polanco were both very good, and the pool views made for a nice place to hang out. But the hotel felt empty and short on warmth, right down to the cookies not being warm. The front desk service and friendliness could be much better. The rooms and bathrooms look old, and the pillows weren’t comfortable.

We’re disappointed with how little attention the hot tubs seem to get. The one that worked in March had only three of its ten jets barely functioning, and it was filthy. With the other tub still cold and broken, hundreds of guests were left crowding into the only heated one in the evening. We first stayed in January 2026, when one of the two tubs had no heat. We told the front desk, and they said they’d let maintenance know. When we came back in March 2026, that exact same tub was still broken. I reported it again, two months after the first time, but I’m not holding my breath that it’ll be fixed this week. They seem to leave these tubs broken for months.
