Garden Vista Hotel Palm Springs

The room was disgusting, with gross stains on the floor and a dirty shower towel. The shower handle was loose, so water kept dripping and getting a decent temperature was hard. There was only one small waste basket for the whole unit, including the bathroom, which wasn't enough. The hotel is old and needs a facelift, though that alone could have been overlooked. If you want to be within walking distance of downtown and nightlife, choose somewhere further south. You get what you pay for, or less. We definitely won't stay there again.

I checked in at 2am while in a lot of pain, and Nick at the desk was incredibly kind. He helped at every step, found me a room that required the least walking, offered to carry my bags, and was the most pleasant hotel clerk I've seen in the past decade. The campus is beautiful, the staff are uber-friendly, and my room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed. The location is 4* for me, though the detour off the main highway isn't the hotel's fault. Can't ask for more. Thanks again, Nick, for your kindness!

My stay at this Days inn in Palm Springs was very disappointing. Someone forced open my room door and stole my laptop. The hotel manager was very kind and tried to help, but told me the owner doesn't take responsibility for stolen items, which I found unacceptable. I also learned that the security cameras weren't functional and were just for show, with no actual connection. The hotel is beside the desert in a very dark, isolated area, which made it feel even more dangerous. The property badly needs security improvements and modernization. In its current state, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone until serious changes are made to protect guests' safety and comfort. They returned the full amount for the nights, and it's still pending whether they'll be responsible for the cost of the laptop.

That giant pool with the mountains behind it was a highlight, and getting around Palm Springs from here was easy. Our room was clean, everything worked, and the old-fashioned feel suited me. The half-hidden corner shower was fun, too. We came over the Fourth of July for work with lots of gear. The friendly staff at check-in explained where to park for the easiest access to our room. We’d been given one of the bigger rooms near the gym and loved having a living room and mini-kitchen area set apart from the beds. It felt like twice the space, so next time I’d pay extra for one again. The price was very reasonable. If you want somewhere sleek and modern, this probably isn’t it, but I liked the charm, the affordable rate, and the outdoor pool. No complaints.
