The giant swimming pool was a highlight at this nice little resort. Good for a short stay in Palm Springs. The rooms are on the small side, and each is privately owned.

I stayed for a week in late 2024 in Unit 336 at Ocotillo Lodge. The property was quiet and secure, with plenty of parking, and my unit had a large patio that got morning sun. Ralphs is a short walk away, as is the small on-site fitness room, where I was usually the only one there. The HVAC was noisy enough that we couldn’t sleep with it running. The bathroom design was poor, with barely any counter space and a huge showerhead that only sprays straight down, making it hard to shower without wetting your hair. I could never get hot water from the bathroom faucets. The other faucets and shower took about a minute to get hot. The bare concrete floors are maybe just a personal peeve, but they feel cold and gritty underfoot.

The units all have their own cute, distinctive look, but they’re very small and uncomfortable for more than a weekend. The only amenity is a lovely, very large pool. It has a 1950s feel.

The unit felt cozy and comfortable, with a wide lounge couch, TV, and comfy bed. I guess you have to pick one set up for coziness. There’s a lot on the property, including a gym, pool, spa, and laundry, and it’s next to ace hotel.
