Best Western Northgate Inn

We only needed somewhere to sleep for the night after fires forced us out of our home in Borger. I was there with my two girls, my parents and their three dogs in a double-bed room, while my grandparents had a single-bed room. The man who checked us in around 2 a.m. was really friendly and accommodating, which I appreciated. He warned us that our room might smell like smoke, but it smelled awful, like weed rather than cigarettes. I used the Scentsy spray from my car to cover it up, and the sheets and pillows smelled the same, so I didn't feel like the bed was clean. The furniture was so dusty that leaning on it left a handprint. It wasn't very clean, but it got us through the night when we couldn't stay home.

I had a comfortable, clean room and the front desk girl was friendly. The bed area was a bit small, though the room still had a decent amount of space. They were fine with my service dog, and let me pay cash when I hadn't been able to make my deposit. Plenty of grass for the furbabies and lots of parking, too. The one problem was the bath water stayed cool instead of getting hot. Otherwise I was pleased and will come back, hopefully to hot water next time.

Breakfast was good, with eggs and meat options like I usually find at Best Western, which does better than its competitors on breakfast. The hotel is older, but it was clean and fairly quiet. The water didn't get very warm, as other reviews have mentioned. They charge $15 a night for a dog, which isn't too bad, though I'd rather it were free.

The place isn't disabled friendly, and it's highly priced. Housekeeping was noisy with carts going up and down the halls, and they knocked on my door two or three hours before checkout to wake me.
