The location worked really well, close to the beach, with a pool on-site. I went for my birthday, and at first it wasn't quite what I expected. It's an older hotel with its own charm, set up more like a mini apartment. Having a fridge, stove, dishes, and most of what we needed made the stay convenient. The room was clean, though we did a little extra cleaning to get it just right for us. The refrigerator quit working during our stay, but maintenance took care of it quickly. No bed bugs, and the room felt comfortable. A couple of costs to plan for: parking is an extra fee at check-in, beach chairs cost extra, and ice is $7. If you want to save money, I'd stop at a store and bring your own chairs and maybe a wagon if you have a lot to carry. I'd recommend checking this hotel out.

I have a love-hate relationship with this motel. The view, the community, and the peacefulness are why I keep liking it, especially in the off-season when it's relaxing and comfortable. The rooms themselves are really nice. But the rooms and housekeeping need serious work, and the price feels high for what's offered. Wi-Fi doesn't work in most rooms. There's no hot tub, despite the claim, and I haven't seen a spot where one used to be. They claim to have a restaurant, but I've stayed many times and never seen one. There is what they call a tiki bar. Most office staff are amazing, but housekeeping is another story. I've seen a housekeeper leaning on a dresser, on her phone instead of cleaning, and the attitude needs to improve. Almost every time, a room has something that should have been cleaned but wasn't. The doors are iffy and sometimes need a hard shove to close. Most have no weather strip or seal at the bottom, so rooms get noisy and breezy. Refrigerators keep things cold when they feel like it. I feel you have to clean the bathrooms before using them. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion are provided, but most dispensers are clogged or look unclean inside. A couple of rooms I've stayed in had sinks that drained poorly. Parking is awful. Often you have to park far across the street and hope nothing happens to your vehicle. The three handicap spaces are occupied by people without a handicap sticker 90 percent of the time because others park in those spots, and the office does nothing. Bring an extra lamp if you want decent light. Many room lamps are rusty enough to make you wonder when you last had a tetanus shot. The elevators are iffy too. Last week and the week before, workers were painting and doing maintenance for the coming season. They started banging around at 6 a.m. and banging on the door, which was inappropriate and rude. They left wet paint without signs, and I ruined a new jacket and pair of pants. When I told staff about the workers, they acted like they didn't care because it was off-season and I wasn't paying their bills. The rooms and stays need work, and most of all the housekeeping crew needs to be replaced.

The beach is lovely, and the manager and staff were kind, though they seemed under a lot of stress. That’s about where the positives end for us. The hotel feels worn out and dated, and our room looked nothing like the pictures. The pool was closed for most of our five-day stay, so we got just one day to use it, and there wasn’t a hot tub. The kitchenette was barely equipped: two dirty plates and bowls, one dirty spoon and fork, and a gross frying pan. After booking problems at arrival left me sorting things out for six hours, I was told I’d be reimbursed for parking, but I still haven’t received it. The place needs a major renovation and more accurate advertising. I won’t stay here again.

The location was hard to beat, and I felt comfortable throughout my stay. The place was clean, and everyone was friendly. I loved it and would definitely come back.

The beach was close and the views were beautiful to wake up to, and there was plenty of room for our family. Still, I’m so disappointed. This was my Mother’s Day gift from my family, and I didn’t enjoy the stay. The room was awful quality and badly outdated. We had no cooking supplies, no hot water for showers, and were repeatedly told someone would come fix things, but they didn’t. Call ahead and ask questions, because this place isn’t advertised correctly.
