We love this small scale resort. It has the basics without the crowds and congestion, and you can’t beat the location or the great beach access. There are no elevators, which is a downside, but the top floor is only three flights up.

The beach itself and access to it were wonderful, and we loved the beach. There were gas grills for hot dogs or crab legs, plus a sauna upstairs from the pool that we never used. The pool was nice, though it needed more attention to its chlorine. The hot tub was so hot that no one could use it besides us, even after we asked them to turn the temperature down. It never happened, and the bottom stayed sandy the whole time. The on-site washer and dryer also performed poorly. The rooms need major updates. Ours had a horrible musty smell, which got worse with several serious standing water problems: water under the kitchen sink and an AC leak in the bathroom that left water on the windowsill. There were visible signs of dark mold on the living room ceiling and in the bathroom. We reported the problems, but they said they were full and didn’t move us. The 1960s furniture was very dirty, with every stain imaginable, so I sat on the counter stools instead. The TV was snowy, had lines running up and down the screen, and kept losing signal, making it unusable at night. They repaired the AC leak and installed a garbage disposal. You can only exchange dirty towels and bedding for fresh ones on certain days, so it’s a do-it-yourself place. If your kid has an accident Monday, you wait until Wednesday.

There were bugs everywhere, it took 10 minutes to get hot water, and we never got hot water in the kitchen. Nobody was in the office until after 9 am. Still, the outdoor area was nice, the pool was clean and warm, and the hot tub was properly hot. It’s very close to the beach, with outdoor grills for cooking, and the staff were great.

We bought a timeshare membership with this company for travel related to military purposes, but our needs have changed and we no longer need it. It has become a financial burden. We’ve used it only three times in 40 years, so the cost is far out of proportion to the benefit. We want to cancel as soon as possible and have contacted the company to ask how, but still haven’t been given a way forward.

I’ve been coming here my whole life, and after becoming an adult I bought a timeshare here. We still come every year, and every year we’re let down. The fees keep going up, but management hasn’t reinvested the money properly. The furniture needs replacing, and so do the old TVs. I’ll give them some credit for starting to replace appliances, but none of the dryers work. You have to exchange towels and linens yourself, and they don’t come in to clean or change them. Exchanges are only every other day. There used to be overnight security, but I saw him once all week. My aunt had property stolen on her first day. This comes from my stays over the years and our visit last week. The staff aren’t very helpful. I put in a maintenance request at check-in, and it wasn’t fixed until the day before we left. There are rumors that the owner or management are deliberately running the property down to get a vote to sell it. I can’t say whether that’s true. There are good things here: it isn’t a high rise, it’s smaller and more intimate, and it has a pool, hot tub, and event building for get togethers. Honestly, the memories I’ve made here bring me back, not the property’s current condition. It’s upsetting and ridiculous to watch the place decline. Reinvest in the places you’ve neglected for years, and train the office staff to handle customer service and pass along maintenance requests. Then I’d recommend it. For now, I’d stay somewhere else.
