Holiday Inn Express & Suites Panama City Beach - Beachfront by IHG

I keep coming back because the location, staff, and breakfast are so good. But the upkeep really needs attention. The TV picture is awful, some channels have no working volume, the toilet doesn't always flush, and elevators are still out of order. The same elevator was broken last year. With what guests pay, these repairs should have been handled by now.

We had a great time here, and the staff made a big difference from check-in through housekeeping. Our rooms were spacious, and housekeeping kept them in good shape. The lobby was also being cleaned constantly. At breakfast, Lamar cooked everything just right, and the bacon was incredible. Tracy-Ann kept the food replenished and noticed my wife loved the bacon, so she brought her some right after it came out. Christine helped the busy dining room run smoothly, with clean tables and plates and utensils ready when needed. Lauren at the grill by the pool and lazy river took care of both drinks and food, and we loved the service there too. Jordan, the GM of the Century, clearly runs an organized, professional team. Great hospitality all around.

We had a good stay, especially because the beach is so nice and the room views are great. There was plenty of fun and activity around the pool with all the kids. The rooms were clean and roomy, though pretty bare, and the bunk beds would work well for larger families. Breakfast was just okay, and the pool drinks tasted weak, so we skipped trying the food there. Across the street, though, we found a terrific bar with live music and great tacos.

This was my fourth stay, and I just booked again with points. I'm Platinum and usually get late checkout with IHG. Even though I have free nights and points with Marriott and Hilton, I keep coming back to what I know works here. The cinnamon rolls are the best, and the food selection is much wider than the two hot and three cold choices I had at a Hilton in Alabama. The young women working here were lovely. When I was offered a two-queen room with an ocean-view balcony on the top floor, I said yes right away. I like being as high up as possible.
