Holiday Terrace Motel

After a long day of travel, we got there at 3 and were told the room wasn't ready and that they'd call when it was. No one called, so we drove back. They assigned us room 707, but people were already inside. Back downstairs we waited a long time before getting another room, 105. There were no towels, and the curtain in front of the big living room window was barely there. The place was filthy. Not once did anyone apologize or offer anything. When we asked for a manager, we were told there was no way to contact the owner and that he couldn't reach anyone. I asked for at least one day's refund after we walked in on someone in bed, but he said he couldn't do that.

We had a great quick getaway and appreciated being able to bring our fur baby without it costing a fortune. The service was good, and the workers were courteous. Coffee was good and always available, and we'd stay again if they'll have us. I did stay cautious around one family's large dog, which didn't seem under control. I didn't complain because I'm grateful we could bring our pet. The other dogs we saw were friendly and well behaved.

We booked through Airbnb for our honeymoon and paid almost $700, then learned 270 miles into the drive that there was also a refundable deposit of $100 per night plus fees. Once we arrived, we waited nearly three hours because rooms still needed cleaning. Other guests were waiting too, including one woman who'd been there since 1 pm the previous day and had to spend a night at another hotel. Housekeeping didn't come to our room until day three. At checkout, it took two days to get the deposit back because we used a card after being told cash wasn't accepted. Then I saw another charge on my card for resort fees they said we hadn't paid. This place feels like a scam. The view is nice, but nowhere near worth it. We can't recommend it.

Good price and a great location, and Lisa did a great job helping resolve things. Someone else was checked into my room, and my girlfriend was half naked when they opened the door. The bathroom fan didn't work, and there were no washcloths. I understand they're renovating now.
