Home2 Suites by Hilton Panama City Beach, FL

I don't usually hand out all fives, but this place earned them. The staff were always available and very helpful. The room was high quality, spotless, and well stocked, with a sofa sleeper that actually folds out. The kitchen had a full-size fridge, dishwasher, pots, silverware, glasses, cups, and plates. Bathroom amenities came in full-size bottles, and there was a complete hot breakfast.

On 4/18/26, my booking was canceled just 3-4 hours before check-in, supposedly because my card hadn't gone through. We'd selected pay at the property, as we've done at this same location several times without a problem. The front desk lady said she'd called me three times, but I showed her my call log and asked her to show me their number. The downstairs bathrooms were filthy, with no toilet paper and dirty towels around the toilet. The pool was closed and unusable the entire time. I rarely leave bad reviews and gave this property a good one just last year.

We drove 15 hours and had this room booked for four days, but couldn't stay more than an hour. We'd never had a bad experience at other Home 2 Suites, but our first time at this one in Panama City beach was horrible. The floors looked dirty as soon as we entered. After my kids played for 20 minutes, their socks were black. When we pulled out the couch bed to sleep, we found bed bugs and got out immediately. Since it was spring break, nearby hotels were full, so we had to drive an hour to Destin, where we had planned to stay for three days after Panama. We ended up staying there all seven days. It was the longest night. We were exhausted and had to move our five kids in the middle of the night because of this awful situation.

I'm a Diamond member, and the front desk told me my request to cancel a two-room reservation would be handled. They only canceled one room, though, and charged a late-cancellation fee for the other one they failed to cancel. Ashley at the desk responded with attitude and disrespect when I spoke with her. Hilton Diamond Customer Service were pleasant, but the front desk and General Mgmt need coaching in professionalism. I'm never staying here again, and I'm telling my company to avoid it too.
