La Quinta Inn & Suites Panama City Beach

We needed a room at the last minute for a couple of nights because our youngest was having oral surgery. I booked through Booking and missed some information, but the manager and the clerk at check-in listened and were understanding. The manager found a solution, and everything worked out. The room was clean, the property was quiet, and being close to the surgery center was a bonus. His surgery went great too, so 10/10 overall. We’re really grateful for the help and had a great stay.

The location made it easy to get around, and being a little farther from the beach was actually nice. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable, and breakfast went beyond a basic continental spread. We gave the stay about a 3.5. It’s dog friendly, but there aren’t many good places to walk a dog, and the burrs in the grass make it harder. The pool wasn’t great.

The room lacked curtains and towel bars, and housekeeping left our trash bags behind. The guest laundry dryer never warmed up, so we had to take our clothes to a laundromat. When I told the manager, she said a work order would need to be put in, as though no one had reported it before. The breakfast eggs seemed like powdered eggs to me. I’m a military veteran, and I’d rather go to the nearby Waffle House for a real breakfast. Also check the outdoor side doors: smokers prop them open with rocks, leaving the hotel unsecured. I grew up in Panama City, Florida, and managed a resort hotel on Panama City Beach years ago. My wife and I booked the La Quinta on Panama City Beach this past week, and my advice is, don’t. Spend a little more and stay somewhere else. I’m not sure where the staff are from, and I’ll leave that to your imagination. As a former beach resort manager, I’d fire the whole lot. Good luck, and may you have a memorable stay on the world’s most beautiful beaches.

The beds were incredibly comfortable, maybe the best sleep I’ve had in years, and the staff were very nice. I was wary because of the price, but the stay turned out great. We did have a couple of small issues: no TV remote, and the fridge didn’t cool very well. They got on both right away. I’ll definitely stay again.
