Origin Beach Resort by H2O VR

The condo and room looked nice, but we shouldn't have had to deal with roaches inside our unit. There was a lot of back and forth between maintenance and the condo owner. Maintenance acted as though someone was being sent, but nobody came for two days in a row. Then the owner said the problem was that another unit was infested. That doesn't change the fact that our unit should have been treated. The hot tub also didn't work properly.

Getting around was straightforward, including parking, which is a real plus when other places can be a hassle. There are good restaurants just across the street, and being able to walk to where you want to eat is a blessing during busy season, when going out can take ages. The tradeoff is that the hotel is across the street from the ocean, so you do have to cross to reach it. There are plenty of crosswalks. Very nice and easy to access.

Apart from this, we had a great stay, and everyone else was warm and welcoming. But for several days, the housekeeper we encountered had a horrible attitude. She had brownish red hair and what looked like homemade jail tattoos on her left arm, and no name tag. Once, my husband and I were getting out of the elevator and she pushed her vacuum in before we could exit, then huffed as if we were in her way. The next day he caught the elevator just before it closed and laughed, apologizing to her. She rolled her eyes and huffed loudly. She kept glaring and huffing during the ride down. My husband is the kindest person, the sort who'd give you the shirt off his back, but he finally told her that if she hated her job, she might need to work somewhere else, because there was no reason to be rude to guests over nothing. She yelled, “Have a great day!!!” in his face. I've never been more disgusted by someone's behavior. We hadn't done anything wrong, and I imagine she was just miserable with her own life. I'm giving two stars because of that experience. We booked through Airbnb, and our host Kristy was amazing.

The condos are in a nice spot, with beach access and covered parking.
