Osprey on the Gulf

The views were breathtaking, right on the beach, and the location was great. We stayed five nights and loved the place. The staff were friendly, and the rooms were cleaned every night.

We were three adults, me and my parents, in a room that was basically a hotel room with a kitchenette and an oceanfront balcony. The balcony had a large table and four plastic chairs, so we ate out there often and played cards. The two double beds weren't comfortable. There was one dresser, one nightstand, a TV with several channels, and plenty of outlets. The sink was outside the bathroom, which made getting ready easier for all of us. The bathroom had a toilet and shower/tub combo, with plenty of hot water. The kitchenette had the basics for cooking and prepping food, though the small counter made that awkward sometimes. It had a full-size fridge with the freezer on top, a little bar, and two bar chairs. A small closet held an iron, ironing board, a few hangers, and room for a couple of suitcases. Across the street is a karaoke bar. You can hear the music and the singing, including people who could use singing lessons, so it may not suit families with young kids who go to bed early. On each floor, there's a coin laundry at one end, out in the open by the stairwell rather than in a room. Each machine cost $1.25 per load. The washer ran about 30 minutes on cool and normal, and the dryer about 50 minutes on normal. Staff were nice, and beach access was great. There's a bar downstairs on the way to the beach, a very small playground beside it, and picnic tables. The pool was heated, the hot tub very warm, and towels were provided for both. There was a soda machine by the office, plus a cooler inside with beer, wine, juice, milk, and other sodas.

It was near everything we needed, and the rooms were clean. The staff are the best. When I visit PCB, I won't stay anywhere else.

The location is great, the beach by the hotel is amazing, and the smaller size is nice if you prefer smaller crowds. The balcony has an amazing view, and the room is cute with a useful kitchen. I've been coming for 20 years, though, and it seems to get worse each year. Prices keep rising, and rooms are only moderately clean. They don't clean again after arrival unless you ask, and you have to fetch toiletries yourself or track down customer service. We had AC trouble for days, and the elevator was very slow or sometimes seemed not to work at all. There are lots of cockroaches downstairs near the bar and games, and the bar never seems to be open.
