Parking right outside our door was great, no stairs 😂😂😂, and the place was cheap and easy for a little family getaway. The room we finally got had one bunk and two queen beds, which worked well for us. You can see they’re trying to make repairs, but things were still pretty rough. The toilet was tiny and didn’t flush properly, which was annoying. It wasn’t a miserable disappointment, though. The beach access was easy, and the location was great. The small hotel meant the beach and pool weren’t crowded, and it was peaceful. The rooms are run down and weren’t cleaned in much detail. We had to go through a lot to get a room the right size, especially with the office at seahaven about a block away. The description and photos didn’t match what we found. The email promised two sets of bunk beds and a queen, but the office manager said those rooms don’t exist. Kitchens and tables are advertised too, and maybe some rooms have them, but ours had only a fridge and no microwave. After a really long wait in line, we got our keys. All three hotels use the same check-in spot, and they seemed understaffed, so be patient. There’s a $100 key deposit. Our first room had just one twin and one full bed, so we had to go back and wait again while they found something that could fit us. The manager was great and very helpful.

The room smelled horrible and was disgusting. Roaches were all over the parking lot, then everywhere inside. I don’t believe the room had been cleaned at all. The window unit was tiny for a hotel room and leaking. This place should be torn down. I took multiple pictures of the different roaches, and I would never stay here again. If you’re thinking of booking, just DON’T. I knew it was an older, cheap hotel and arrived with low expectations. Check-in was at the other hotel, The Reef, and I paid a $50 key fee that was refunded when we left. Pulling up was a bit of a shock, but I reminded myself it was cheap and on the beach. Seeing the roaches as soon as we got out of the car was the first red flag. We arrived late, but I went back to the office anyway. They said there were no other rooms across their three hotels and nothing they could do, and told me to return at 7am to talk with management. We slept in our truck that night. The woman I spoke with at 7 the next morning was helpful and apologetic, and they gave me a full refund. We left for a completely different hotel that wasn’t owned by them. I understand an older hotel won’t be the nicest, but the roaches were absolutely disgusting.

The staff were really nice and helpful, and the penthouse suite gave my friends and me enough space to enjoy our beach vacation. We stayed five days. The room was fairly clean, the beds were comfortable, there were no bugs in sight, and the appliances all worked fine. There were a few hiccups, nothing unreasonable. We were skeptical because the reviews were so poor, but pleasantly surprised when we arrived. It wasn’t a five-star hotel, but it did the job.

Being near the beach was amazing, but it wasn’t enough to make our group ever come back. I can’t believe this place is still in business. The pool was greenish brown and reeked, and the whole property smelled like a mix of body odor and a dead body. NASTY. Our room looked nothing like the pictures. The furniture was broken and chipped, with tape holding it together, and safety pins kept the curtains from falling apart. One outlet sparked when we tried plugging anything in. The shower kept running and couldn’t be shut off. The AC was blasting but never cooled the room, which stayed as hot as it was outside. They give you just one key, so a large group going different places can’t all get back into the room. The office hours posted on the doors weren’t right. Be ready to drive to another hotel to sort things out, because they probably won’t answer the phone.

The room had a nice mid-century feel, and for the price, you really can’t beat it. We stayed in room 1702 and had no trouble at check-in or check-out. It seems like renovations were underway while we were there. It was a basic room with a sink, microwave, fridge, simple bedding, and a table with two chairs. The shower worked fine and the toilet flushed great, unlike what others have said here. Our sliding glass door opened right onto the pool deck, and the outdoor shower for rinsing off after the beach was right beside our room. We could park next to it, too. I’d read the reviews before coming down and expected a lot worse.
