Splash 207 - Two Bedroom Condo

The location was great, as usual, and the sand was amazing. The food was good, and the check-in and cafe staff were nice. We’ve stayed at Splash before and loved it, and we’d probably return, just not to unit 1701E or the same kind of unit. This time, the condo needed work. The floor was buckling, the halls needed touch-ups, and a few things needed repair. The VRBO listing said there was a dryer and coin laundry, but there wasn’t. Luckily, the people next door let us use their washer, and we hung our clothes to dry in the washroom. The listing also said laundry and dishwasher soap would be provided, but neither was there. The kitchen only had a bar fridge, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker, so we ended up going out a lot. We didn’t hear the first neighbors, but the next ones were very loud. We could hear everything through the walls and out on the balcony until 2 a.m.

The resort was fun and enjoyable, but the room hadn’t been cleaned properly before we arrived. There was dirty water left in the tub, the oven wasn’t clean, and lights weren’t working in several places.

We had a good time in the condo, and check-in was a breeze. The ocean-view balconies were nice, and having a connected parking garage was convenient. There’s also a souvenir shop across the street, accessible from the street or the garage, plus a poolside bar. It was closed during our November visit. The pool and lazy river were heated, which was nice. But when we booked, nobody told us the splash pad was closed for floor work. That was the main reason we came back, and our four-year-old grandson was very disappointed. We might return, but I’ll definitely ask about the pool area first.

Everything about the condo and our hosts was perfect, and we’re very grateful to them. We’d absolutely recommend their beautiful, comfortable place. What made the stay disappointing was how some of the other guests, mostly older people, treated our family. We got several rude looks and comments, even though our kids are well-behaved and we care about treating others kindly and respectfully. I hope management reminds future guests that this is a family-friendly resort where larger families should feel welcome and comfortable too.
