The Reef at Seahaven Beach Resorts

The hotel is right on the beach, which is the main thing I paid for. The office was rarely open. We'd been there since Friday, and when I finally found someone on Tuesday to ask for clean towels, she said there weren't any. She didn't know when they'd have more and said I'd need to ask a manager who wasn't there. We also had two leaks, one by the door and one by the tub. The deadbolt didn't work, and there was black mold in a corner under the sink. I'm not sure why this is called a resort.

The room felt dirty, and everything looked old. The sofa mattress was stained and really nasty, despite what the pictures show, and there was a strange smell throughout. At night, the restaurant next door blasted music, and we could hear cars racing outside around 2:30 in the morning.

Look for another hotel. Our 3:00 p.m. check-in turned into getting a room at 4:30, and it was filthy. The floors hadn't been swept or mopped, sand was everywhere, the shower was dirty, and there was only one towel. The coffee maker had no pot. A sink upstairs leaked down the wall into the first-floor room, and the bed was broken and sagged in the middle. There was no cable TV or guest ice maker, though you could buy bags of ice. The back door had no key entry, so we had to walk around or leave the room unlocked. The patio area had no lighting. It looked like several rooms were occupied permanently. Parking was shared with Sharky's restaurant, so finding a space was nearly impossible. The trash bins by our door at the foot of the stairs stayed full and stinking, and the marijuana smell was overwhelming. It's a rundown, stinking place beside the ocean, between Sharky's and Senor Frogs, which are great for food, drinks, and a good time. I'm still not sure whether there were bedbugs or fleas. Find another hotel and enjoy your PCB trip.

The room at The Reef in Panama City Beach was gross, especially the bathroom, which had grime and buildup and clearly didn't seem properly cleaned. Our smoke detector kept blaring at random and waking us up. Instead of fixing it, staff made us take it off the wall, then accused us of smoking weed and said it was some kind of “weed detector.” We don't even smoke. Parking was a hassle, and the front desk women were dismissive and rude. Between the dirty room, being falsely accused, and the staff, the whole stay was ridiculous. I would never come back.
