Silver Sevens Hotel and Casino, a Wyndham Garden

We left right after breakfast and went elsewhere. The airport shuttle had stopped for the afternoon, so we took an Uber. Check-in was just a desk at the back of a smoke-filled casino, with a clerk who wasn't very outgoing or friendly. They charged us a $46 resort fee, but the pool was closed and the shuttle unavailable, and they refused to credit the fee. The dim hallway smelled like too much Febreze had been used to cover smoke. The bathroom was dingy, and the tiny pillows felt like pillowcases stuffed with dirty laundry. Breakfast for two at Denny's was a mediocre $50.

The gym had what I needed, though I was surprised there was no sanitizer or water. The room was fine: a good bed, okay pillows, and a tiny bathroom that did the job. The carpet really needs a deep clean, or to be removed. Knowing what to expect, I'd stay again and make a few adjustments.

The saltwater jacuzzi is my favorite part. It feels mineral rich and helps put some moisture back into my skin in the dry Vegas air. The pool and fitness room are good too, and for what you pay, the amenities are hard to beat. I can usually find a room on hotels.com for about $50 to $60 a night with the resort fee included, and parking is free. If you book a Tower room, it has a microwave and mini fridge, plus a pool view, which can help cut down on eating out. It's a bit of an oasis away from the Strip, with plenty of places to eat nearby, including the newly opened 24-hour Denny's. Rooms look older and the carpet could use a cleaning, so bring house shoes. Service has been great for me, and check-in and checkout have always been easy. It's a local hangout, and there may be some homeless people around, but that doesn't bother me. They're people like anyone else. The music leans toward '80s and '90s R&B, so if that's your thing, you might enjoy gambling here. I also bring my essential oils everywhere, especially my sage, to freshen up the room and bring in some positive energy.

Two credit cards went missing from the room, along with the brand new Tiffany & Co perfume I had just bought, worth $200. When I reported everything at the front desk, they told me not to harass the housekeeping staff. They offered no help and no resolution. I believe the staff stole my things, and the hotel doesn't seem to care or be willing to accommodate me. Don't leave your belongings in the room. They seem to think nothing will be done about it.
