Suites at HGVC at the Flamingo Las Vegas Strip

The room was updated and nice, but faced the pool, where the music was so loud that resting or taking a nap wasn't an option. I had asked for the highest floor available when I booked, yet at my 4 p.m. check-in they offered only the fourth, the hotel's lowest floor. They said the higher rooms hadn't been cleaned yet. The person who checked me in was one of the least friendly hotel employees I've met in years of traveling. In a city known for hospitality, that was a surprise. The room itself was fine, but the assignment, noise, and poor service left me disappointed with my stay at the Flamingo.

We were pitched a Hilton Grand Vacations presentation in the lobby with promises of $200 in meal credits for any Vegas restaurant, a free three-day, two-night stay that sounded usable at any Hilton Grand Vacations property, and a free Uber ride. In practice, the credits and stay were limited to a small number of places, and the ride never arrived. We went to the hard-sell presentation and bought nothing. This is more of a vacation rental than a typical hotel, with limited services. During our week, the room was serviced just once. They'd bring extra towels if asked, but refused my request for a second cleaning. The property is dated but nice, though it doesn't compare with newer Vegas places. Some outlets and USB ports didn't work, and there's an oddly placed whirlpool tub near the middle of the room, which we didn't try. The location is good, a block off the Strip near Flamingo Casino, and parking is free. Traffic can get congested in the evenings.

It feels low-key and genuinely homey, with large, quiet rooms even though you're surrounded by attractions. The Sphere and High Roller are right next door, and places like Bellagio, the Venetian, Caesars Palace, and the Strip are about a five-minute walk away. It's extremely comfortable and convenient if you want to enjoy Las Vegas. I'll definitely stay here on future trips.

The location is great, right in the middle of the monorail line. We had a big room, wonderful staff, a small kitchen area, and the most comfortable beds ever. There's also a spa bathtub separate from the shower. The main downside was loud music from the Flamingo pool, running from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Staff kindly put us as far from it as they could, but we could still hear it. Also, a few times after we said we weren't interested in buying a timeshare, staff kept asking.
