Comfort Inn Paramus - Hackensack

The rooms are very clean, the front desk is friendly, and the price is fair. The location is great and parking is free, so I’d stay again. The internet disappeared completely overnight. I kept trying to sign back in, but it wouldn’t come back, and I listen to talks while sleeping because I wake up a lot. Breakfast was plain, just eggs and sausage patties, with no bacon. The coffee wasn’t great, and there was no proper half-and-half.

I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels, and I really liked the value here. The room had bright white lights, a Keurig coffee machine, a big comfortable king bed, and lots of space. The 44-inch smart TV was the best part, with Netflix and YouTube all set up. There’s also a small gym with two machines, though it’s not really for me. I called to ask for a room that would make coming and going convenient. They agreed on the phone, and the second person at check-in honored the request. There’s a hot coffee machine by the breakfast area available 24/7, too. The one disappointment was no guest laundry, but I managed. Great value for money, recommended.

My son and granddaughter have stayed here every other weekend for 11 years, and we join them a few times a year. The staff always welcome us and make us feel at home. Breakfast is great, the rooms are quiet, and it’s easy to get in from the side roads behind the hotel and avoid Route 17.

The breakfast and housekeeping staff were all kind and friendly, but I wouldn’t come back or recommend this hotel. It felt gross, even though we’re not fussy people. The whole place smelled strongly of spiced cooking, a bit like Indian food, the carpet had bits of food on it when we arrived, and we found a cockroach on the windowsill. I’ve stayed here before, and it’s gone downhill a lot.
