The lobby felt luxurious and had lots of amenities, and the ski lockers were handy for keeping our gear overnight. You can ski right outside, which made the location great. Getting to our room meant taking two elevators, though, so I'd choose a different room next time. Still an amazing place to stay in Deer Valley, and I'd recommend it.

Our room was beautiful, and the customer service was great. The best part was being able to finish a day on the slopes, ski straight to the locker, then go right up to our room. The location is perfect.

I've been back several times because I love staying here. The staff really go above and beyond, helping us with anything we needed. Please pass along my thanks for making our visits so good.

Black Diamond had been our family's dream vacation for years. We've been coming since 2011, moving between locations as the family grew, and the reservation staff came to feel like family as they helped make sure everyone was comfortable. Unit 243 was wonderful for us: four bedrooms, five full baths plus a half bath, a huge loft, game station, second dining table, and ski-in, ski-out access. This year, after $28,000 had already been collected and with plenty more to come, the experience fell apart. The resort had been bought by private equity, and four days before we were due to leave, Mr. 0 Reilly told me, “We cannot have all these people in this unit!” I felt as if I was being called a liar and accused of sneaking three extra people in. He lectured me about guests like me causing unnecessary wear and tear and being unfair to paying guests. I was shocked. He said I'd need to get another two-bedroom unit with a full kitchen for $1,700 a night. I was flabbergasted and insisted we wouldn't need or use it. His alternative was a hotel room that could fit three. Since it was booked for the first and last nights of our seven-night stay, we were allowed to keep the family together on those nights. He said this would “help me out this time” with money, but “never again.” I've been miserable, spending the first two days searching for another place because I no longer feel welcome here. Thank God we didn't buy a unit two years ago! I was shown a four-bedroom, four-bath place said to accommodate 14. Really? Cramp us into that next year? We're looking around, maybe Canada. I enjoyed Banf! Maybe Canada will appreciate our family from now on. Beware the new rules. Mr o Reilly was just “doin my job”.

We had a great stay, with friendly service and high-quality rooms. The lodge was convenient for everything we wanted to do, and we even listened to a great concert from our balcony. Thanks to the staff.
