The shuttle was a great perk: it’s private, free, and takes you into Park City or anywhere within five miles. You arrange pickups and drop-offs through an app that works much like Uber. The property has a lot of space and fantastic amenities, and every staff member we met was kind and very helpful. We missed the regular champagne tasting all four evenings, so Spencer arranged a private one for us. Kiki and Fatima hosted it and were wonderful. I’d highly recommend the hotel and its staff.

The gondola ride from the parking lot up to the hotel is part of what makes this place so cool. There’s also a pool, and the restaurants are both fancy and delicious. I spent one night here on a road trip to Zion National Park, and it was probably the best hotel I’ve stayed in. The views were incredible, especially with thunder and lightning in the distance the night I arrived. I’ll remember that sight for a long time. A 10/10 stay for one night.

Our group was treated unfairly and disrespectfully, and it left me deeply disappointed. We were repeatedly told the property and amenities were “over capacity,” even as we watched other guests get admitted right in front of us. We’re Titanium members and spent a significant amount on breakfast, lunch, dinner, and happy hour, but our loyalty and spending seemed to count for nothing. The women working at the time were rude, dismissive, and openly hostile. It felt personal and targeted. Being told something that seemed untrue while seeing others given exceptions was unacceptable and unprofessional. Whether the cause was favoritism, bad management, or discrimination, we were still made to feel unwelcome and singled out. Management needs to seriously review its staff and training standards.

The gentleman at the door had to turn us away, though I could tell he wanted to let us in. We were clearly dressed well and being friendly. I’d give the employee at the funicular entrance discretion over whom to admit. The hotel sometimes closes to the public. At a minimum, it should announce those closures on its website and social media so people don’t make the trip. I probably won’t try again because the risk of a wasted visit isn’t worth it. I’d suggest a more reliable option like the montage or Stein Erikson instead.

The ski-in, ski-out access was phenomenal, and the ski valet team was amazing. We tried every on-site restaurant. Service was 10/10 at each one, while the food averaged 7/10. Even so, it was easily the best mountain-resort food we’ve had. The bar/vintange room gets pretty wild for après, just as we expected. The one thing we hadn’t anticipated was how slow the funicular is. After a few rides it became a nuisance, and its lines can get pretty long. During après, staff will bring hotel guests to the front of the line, which helps. My wife and I stayed three nights over SB weekend. We had high expectations, and the team at STR DV exceeded them. From the time we booked, they let us know they were there if we needed anything, and that level of care continued throughout the stay. Every staff member we met was pleasant and helpful. Our corner mountain-view suite was fantastic, including one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in. We’re looking forward to making this an annual trip, and we’re grateful to the team for making the stay unforgettable.
