Alexander House Motel

The staff were really friendly, and the place was very clean despite some wear and tear. There’s a liquor store on site and a restaurant upstairs. I heard great things from people who ate there, including about the walleye and steak supper with fresh vegetables. They also have an Indian cuisine night, and I was told it’s always sold out.

I spent two weeks at Alexander House while I looked for a place to live after taking a job in Grafton. The hotel I tried there charged too much, so I went to Park River and found a much more wallet friendly price, with triple the accommodations. They cleaned the room daily, the beds were soft, and there was a good sized mini fridge. The hospitality was friendly and made me feel welcome. I’d recommend it to anyone needing a place to stay.

I asked about the trading hours, but the Mexican girl was very rude and didn’t seem interested in my question. I had to ask three times before she understood. I’d rather go to Grand Forks.

Sept 2024: We came back to this handy motel, restaurant, bar, and liquor store combo. Check-in was quick and friendly, the room was clean, and the bathtub and TV both worked. Guest wifi still wasn’t working, and there was no coffee or breakfast, pool, exercise room, or other extras. We did get a quiet night’s sleep. Dinner upstairs was great. The bartender, waitress, and greeter gave fantastic service and did her best, though I think they were understaffed. Loved the salad bar, and the steak was great. Sept 2022: We used the hotel, restaurant, and liquor store, all in one stop. Check-in was friendly, and our ground floor room was comfortable and quiet. No coffee in the room, though there was a machine in the lobby. The hotel internet had an authentication problem, and even with the password given to me twice, I couldn’t connect. The upstairs restaurant was super busy, seemingly with everyone in town there. Service was slow, but the staff were trying their best, so I don’t blame them. The food was good. I preferred the sirloin with tater tots and salad bar over the walleye with baked potato.
