SpringHill Suites by Marriott Denver Parker

We spent two nights here and found it cozy and comfortable, with a very clean room. The staff were friendly, breakfast was good, and there’s a gym too. It’s a simple, unassuming place, but a great stay. I’d absolutely recommend it if you’re in Parker.

The location is great for walking or running, and you can walk to a restaurant. The staff are really nice, and breakfast is hearty enough. But the rooms feel depressing. They’re long and narrow, the lighting is dim, and the dark red accent color makes the whole space feel heavier. It is clean, just depressing.

My reservation, booked through Capital One, had apparently been canceled without either me or Capital One being told. I only found that out after I called the hotel ahead of time to say I’d arrive after 9 PM and make sure the booking wouldn’t be canceled. The manager couldn’t find it in the system, then Capital One contacted the hotel and learned it was already canceled. The poor communication and lack of transparency are unacceptable. If I hadn’t called, I could have arrived late at night to find I had no reservation. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

I’ve stayed here for six years, and the staff have always been nice. What bothers me is the extra $5 per night for parking. This is a suburb where parking isn’t hard to find, so the charge feels obnoxious. I understand paying for parking downtown, but this is like a Spirit Airlines money grab. Just include it in the room price.
