The Parker Hotel

The staff were amazing. I needed one small thing, and it was at my door before I could sit down. They were friendly, helpful, and almost magical. The rooms are dim, with 1920s black and white decor and a great chandelier. They aren’t fully soundproof, but they were fine enough while I was out during the day. The shower has low flow and the water gets warm enough but never toasty. The beds, pillows, and towels were all fine, just nothing special. I was surprised there wasn’t a microwave in the room, maybe that’s a Holiday Inn Express thing. I came planning to spend quality time mostly at the hotel, so that stood out. If I tried it again, I’d ask for a top floor room with a balcony. Otherwise I’d probably look elsewhere, though it was sufficient for this stay. Sometimes just right is enough. 😎

At 3am, I called the front desk looking for somewhere to stay while my husband was being treated in the ER. We live about an hour from Parker, and I had our two little kids with me. They were having a hard time at the hospital, so we needed to get them somewhere nearby. The man who answered was kind, understanding, and really helpful in getting us a room. The room was lovely and clean. It was an unusual trip, but I’m so glad we chose this hotel. I hope the employee who helped us gets recognized for going above and beyond.

Parking took some figuring out. I ended up leaving the car in the AMC theater lot, so keep that in mind if you’re driving. The shower pressure could have been better, too. That said, the hotel was clean, the room was comfortable and nicely kept, and the decor felt elegant for the price. Everyone on staff was welcoming. There’s coffee in the lobby, and a diner shares the building, though you have to go outside to reach it. I had a pleasant stay and would come back. Those small hassles didn’t outweigh the cleanliness, friendly staff, and convenient location.

The staff were friendly and ready to help, and the hotel was handy for getting around the Parker area. One thing to check at arrival: the superior king listing showed a desk, but our room had none. Maybe that depends on the floor plan. They kindly brought up a café table and chair so my husband could work.
