Lincoln Motel

The room surprised me in a good way: it was clean, looked like the photos, and I slept okay even with my bad back. The owners, a husband and wife, were friendly too. When I first pulled up, the exterior and neighborhood looked questionable enough that I nearly told my Uber driver to keep going. It’s basic, though. If you need more than a bed, TV, and bathroom, this probably isn’t the place for you. The microwave is out in the breezeway. For the price, it’s a great choice. Book through Booking.com or another app to get a much lower rate.

Customer service gets consistently good feedback, and the accommodations have all been recently renovated. Rates are competitive, and the freeway is nearby. There’s a bus stop right in front of the motel, though people without their own transportation may find local amenities a bit far away. There can occasionally be people loitering nearby.

It’s a rough place, and the rooms aren’t great. There aren’t any amenities, and housekeeping is very limited. About half the motel has been bought for government housing, so you’ll be staying alongside homeless people. They’re nice, though. For $100, I’d go somewhere else.

Horrible experience. There were used belongings left in the room, dirty sheets, pillows and mattress, mold in the shower, and a toilet that hadn’t been cleaned or restocked with toilet paper. I heard loud screams and moans, and saw lots of drug deals and hookers. It felt unsafe as well as unsanitary. Being cheap doesn’t make a place safe.
