The Oaks Hotel & Suites

We found this hotel at the last minute and were pleasantly surprised by how clean and nice it was. The rooms were big and comfortable, with his and hers robes and slippers. The shower had great pressure, and they provide everything except your toothbrush and toothpaste. Breakfast was included, with plenty of seating and a good range of food. The outdoor jacuzzi was piping hot and had great jets. We’ll stay again when we’re in Paso Robles.

The location is hard to beat, less than five minutes from quaint downtown Paso Robles, just minutes from the wineries, and about 45 minutes from Pismo Beach and Hearst Castle. We wouldn’t choose anywhere else and highly recommend The Oaks for a Paso Robles vacation. The rooms were beautiful, the beds super comfortable, and we felt really pampered. They provided robes and slippers, and the included hot breakfast was delicious.

We enjoyed the stay enough to extend it. This was in mid November 2025. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the property was clean and well maintained. We’ve been traveling since early July 2025 and stayed in many hotels from San Diego to Alaska, and this was easily the most comfortable bed we’ve had. Breakfast was very good, especially the eggs, which weren’t soggy. Jim, the breakfast host, was a delight. I also appreciated having the Discovery channel on instead of the news. The hot tub was clean and hot. We didn’t use the fitness center, but it looked well equipped, if not large. The pool was closed, the only thing I can fault, though I never asked to have it uncovered and didn’t want to use it anyway. On our first morning, a guest had spilled coffee in an elevator. I told the desk, and it was cleaned by the time we finished breakfast.

We’ve always been treated very well at The Oaks Hotel in Paso Robles. It’s easy to get to downtown, and the staff are courteous and quick to respond. The included breakfast is a nice plus. We’ll return because the hotel is friendly to both dogs and people, and I hope a few things get addressed before then. Some electrical outlets were so loose they wouldn’t hold their own weight. We had trouble using our medical devices, and they could damage sensitive equipment or create a fire risk. We told the staff, who offered us a different room. The sink faucet’s flow restrictor was a joke, and a spray pump bottle might have worked better. In contrast, the shower was very nice.
