The innkeepers made the place feel so personal, and even Bosco, the resident inn cat, added to the cozy charm. Breakfast was homemade, delicious, and comforting. I’ve never stayed at a bed and breakfast before, and the Lost Whale Inn has set a very high bar for me. The ocean view from the deck is spectacular, and sitting by the firepit in winter felt magical. The whole inn has the feel of a lovingly cared-for seaside retreat. I left already wanting to come back. If you want somewhere quiet and beautiful near the coast and redwoods, this is a special spot.

We stayed in the Orca room and had beautiful views from the balcony. The owners and staff were so welcoming, and we’ll definitely be back later this year and in years to come. It’s a sweet bed and breakfast and a great place to stay while exploring the Redwood National Parks. I’d recommend it, and don’t skip the massage! This is my new favorite spot in Cali.

We spent five nights in the Sea Lion Room, and the room itself is beautiful enough to be a destination. We loved the ocean views, the sunsets from the spacious deck, and hearing the sea lions. Late afternoon brought delightful appetizer plates, with wine and beer always available, and there are s’mores at the daily early evening fire pit. The staff were caring and attentive to all the details of our comfort. Breakfast buffets were the best we’ve had at a bed and breakfast. The bed was comfortable, and it was easy to get to things we wanted to see in the area. It was an amazing find, so don’t hesitate to book if you can.

The owners and staff were genuinely kind. Each afternoon they brought a tasty charcuterie board for our room, and the home-cooked breakfasts were delicious. They also offered suggestions for local restaurants and attractions. The property is lovely, landscaped beautifully, and right on the water, where you can hear sea lions from your room. I’d highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

The area is beautiful and peaceful, but what stood out most for me was how well the wedding was handled. From planning through the ceremony, dinner, and all the details in between, everything was perfect. I live in Vegas and still haven’t had a steak as well cooked and seasoned as the one I had after the ceremony. And that breakfast is the stuff of dreams. I don’t know who the chef is, but for many dishes they could outshine anyone on the Vegas Strip. I’m definitely the frugal one in our marriage, but whether you’re vacationing here or paying for a small to medium-sized wedding, the service and serenity are worth every penny.
