The staff were helpful and really nice, and the rooms were very clean. The property has had some recent room updates, though the bathrooms could still use a little work.

After I posted a Google review, I finally got a reply to the email I'd sent the property manager. Applying my money to a fee that should never have been charged is hardly the effort I expected. Maybe I was naïve to expect decent customer service and professionalism from Best Western. Save yourself the trouble and stay at the Hampton Inn a few miles away instead. We were at Best Western Pawleys Island for a funeral, during an already difficult time for our family. At check-in, Kim told us our reservation had been booked incorrectly. She was dismissive and rude, focused on what she thought we'd done wrong, and brushed aside my questions about several card charges by saying refunds were pending. The room also wasn't in good shape. It was worn and outdated, and the carpet smelled awful. Monta, the night auditor, was more helpful. The next morning, manager Latoya was professional and apologetic, and assured me we'd get a refund for the extra charge. But Kim had checked us out a day early even though we'd asked to stay through Sunday. When we came back from a family function on Saturday, we couldn't get into our room because the front desk had no record of our extended stay. It took several tries to sort out. I also emailed the property manager with my concerns and got no response until after the Google review. Despite Latoya's efforts, the service left us disappointed, and we won't be returning to Best Western Pawleys Island.

We spent two weeks here and had no problems at all. The staff were fantastic, friendly throughout, and went above and beyond to keep the breakfast area clean and well stocked. It was one of the best maintained breakfast areas I've seen in a long time. Coffee was always available and hot, all day and into the evening. The room was neat, clean, and organized, and the lobby and hallways were being cleaned constantly. I'd gladly recommend this hotel to anyone or any family staying around Pawleys Island. The whole staff deserves five stars.

Everything else was fine, and the staff were cool. The room was mostly clean, though someone had smoked in it, the door was damaged, and there was a stain on the carpet by the entrance.
