The room was roomy and clean, and the bed was comfortable, though the pillows were flat. The curtains were dirty, but the heat and AC both worked. There wasn’t an iron or ironing board. Check-in was quick, and the quiet parking lot was nice. You can walk to all the restaurants nearby. Breakfast was barely worth it, just coffee, cereal, fruit, and dry muffins. The snack machines on the floors were always empty, and the drink machines had nothing either. I also didn’t like that the first-floor back door was left unlocked and open. Having to bring my key card downstairs every day to get it reactivated was really irritating.

Breakfast was the weak point. The coffee at 7 a.m. was cold, the biscuits were hard, and the eggs were really watery. The lobby and breakfast space, though, had a charming feel, with high ceilings, a big wall of windows, and a walkway overlooking the seating from the second level. Our room was nice and had all the basics. We stayed one night, then moved to another hotel with a better breakfast.

The room was a good deal for the price. My main problem came at 4 a.m. when I went down to get a drink and needed change. I could see the worker at the front desk, but couldn’t wake him up. Breakfast was cold, like it had come straight from the fridge. After microwaving it, it still wasn’t edible.

The second room was only a little better than the first, which had what looked like blood on the sheet. It still wasn’t clean, the curtains were torn, and wires were hanging from the ceiling. This is a pretty bad look for Choice Hotels.

The furniture has a lot of scratches, though I’m sure plenty of people have used it. The rooms are good, the breakfast is very good, and for the price it was a good stay.
