Best Western Swiss Clock Inn

This was a convenient, safe stop right off the 10. My family and I found plenty of dinner choices at the restaurant, and room guests get a dinner discount. It came to about $50 for meals for four. Make sure you know whether you're staying at the Swiss Clock or BW plus, since they're different buildings. The breakfast is genuinely good, with the usual eggs, bacon, potatoes, and waffle station, plus lots of fresh fruit, breakfast taco fixings, and more. The restaurant staff were especially friendly, and the salsa was good and spicy. Most of the guests around us seemed to be oil workers. Although it's near the highway, I felt safe leaving my Uhaul full of all my belongings parked out front overnight. Great option for a family road trip.

English speakers may have trouble here. Nearly every staff member I encountered spoke Spanish and not a word of English. I asked a man making a bed to point me toward the ice machine, but he didn't understand what I was saying. He smelled like marijuana. I don't know how they have workers who only speak Spanish. The restaurant was the one bright spot in the service. I'm never staying here again.

The only three animal-friendly rooms are by the I10 exit, right next to where 18 wheeler trucks park. Listening to them idle and start up was horrible, and the dogs barked at all the noise. If you're traveling with animals, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. I also found a dead large tick on the bathroom floor. Yuk.

The breakfast buffet at the restaurant next door was the best I've had anywhere I've stayed. The voucher gets you in, and there was really good salsa, biscuits and gravy, and a full fruit bar with cottage cheese, yogurt, and everything in between. The rooms are beautiful and immaculate, and the big bottles of hand soap, lotion, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner smelled so good I already looked them up to buy. From check-in onward, everyone was kind and helpful. The place is amazing and comfortable, whether you're passing through like we were or staying in Pecos for a few days or longer. Everyone was so nice.
