Holiday Inn Express Pendleton

The staff and service were excellent, but the condition of the hotel wasn't what I'd expect from an HIE at $150 a night. I know renovations are underway, but I don't understand how IHG let the operator get to this point. I've worked at HIE properties, and we had our flag threatened for far less. There was peeling paint everywhere, a metal piece on the wall that seemed to lead nowhere, and a big gap in the bathroom counter patched with yellowed silicone. The beds creaked badly, and one was off its box. There was mold in the bathroom, and the fridge didn't work well enough to keep our milk from spoiling. I could go on.

I've stayed at a lot of hotels as a businessman's wife, and this is my favorite, all because of Crystal and her crew. They make it feel clean, comfortable, warm, and welcoming, and the staff go above and beyond and genuinely care about guests. Breakfast is always on point, and there are cookies in the evenings. We've been happy guests for about 5 years, and as long as Crystal is manager, we'll keep referring everyone we know, for business and personal trips. Yes, even ahead of Hampton (gag), Oxford, and Radisson. ❤️

The desk clerk was very helpful, suggested an excellent place for dinner, and got us a room with a nice, convenient view. The room was comfortable and clean, and breakfast was good, better than at some other Holiday Inns. I'd stay here again.

I've stayed at this hotel for years, and in Pendleton it's the only place I choose. The staff are great, the rooms are clean, and the beds and pillows are amazing. I also like the well-lit parking lot at night and how convenient everything is. Breakfast is great too. I love this hotel.
