Radisson Hotel Pendleton Airport

Poor service made this a disappointing stop before my flight. I was the only customer in the restaurant the whole time. The cook didn't seem welcoming, and when he said he couldn't serve alcohol, he had to find someone who could. Even then, they couldn't find cups, so it took 20 minutes to get my drink. The food arrived without napkins, and the cook went back into the kitchen, then kept walking in and out and looking at me awkwardly. When I asked for another drink, the person who could serve it had left. Nobody offered another option, and I was just given the bill.

The hotel is brand new, and our room was comfortable. Staff greeted us whenever we came or went. I liked breakfast, especially the blueberry pancakes, and the sit-down meal was good and reasonably priced. There's no microwave in the room, though you can use one in the lobby. The airport is only steps away, but town is a bit of a drive. I'd stay here again.

The duplicate charge took two weeks of calls and pleading with both the local hotel and corporate to get refunded. Check-in was miserable too. It took 25 minutes, and Janelle the mean, mean, mean desk clerk challenged every detail. The booking had my husband's first name, though we share a last name, and I had plenty of ID plus a printout of the reservation. She also hassled me because my card's last four digits differed from my husband's, even though the rest matched, as can happen with two cards on one account. Her tone was snotty and mean. After 15 minutes I politely asked her to stop being mean, and she snapped, "You were mean first!" I said she was the professional host and asked for a shred of kindness. She got even more hostile and kept berating me. If getting yelled at and dealing with weeks of effort to fix erroneous charges sounds good, this is the place for you.

The room was really dirty, with pet hair on and in the bed, plus hair on the windowsill and around the bath and sink. We had to ask for all the bedding to be changed. The creamer by the coffee maker was expired too, which made me wonder how carefully they clean. The bathroom light switches off automatically after ten minutes, so it can leave you in the dark in the shower. The high ceilings make voices and TV sound echoey and loud. The lobby isn't welcoming, and I wish there'd been decaf or hot cocoa instead of only regular coffee. No free breakfast or pool was a letdown. The hotel itself is nice, though.
